How are Real Estate and Military Bombing Similar?

How are Real Estate Marketing and Military Bombing Similar?

No—the answer isn’t to carpet bomb your clients.

Real Estate Marketing and Military Bombing are similar in that both require an accurate assessment of whether you are hitting the target or not. The military calls it “BDA” or Battle Damage Assessment.  If you are hitting the target, how well so? How far off? What would be required to score a direct hit?

My partner and I use a carefully honed database of commercial brokers, and previous Buyers,  who have not only opted ‘in’ to our email list, but who actively participate in committees, and groups such as Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development Councils and industry tradeshows. In short—they are deal makers.

When we send out a flyer, via FaceBook, email, Twitter, or Blog-----they all link back to a BITLY link, which tracks how many ‘direct hits’ we are getting. It is our “Battle Damage Assessment”.  If you are in a sales business and can implement some sort of assessment of your marketing/sales efforts, I highly recommend it.

The result page below is from a sales campaign we started last week, and as you can see, our flyer has been downloaded 1,155 times for this property. Now, we know we are hitting the target. The offers that came in told us it was a bullseye.
