My Friday EagleFord Shale Seminar

This past Friday, I had the pleasure of attending the BISNOW event in San Antonio, Texas focused on the EagleFord shale.

Discussion focused on the huge economic impact that this relatively new development can bring to Texas. Discussion focused on real estate development, challenges for developers, municipalities, and future permitting/development/entitlement issues.

Developable real estate is in high demand along the Eagle Ford shale.  Current reports show over 1.1 million barrels per day of production.  With over 4,000 existing wells and projected sustainability of 30+ years, this is one of the biggest discoveries of oil and natural gas in history.  We simply call it the biggest little secret in Texas.

One question from the audience about the increasing prices received a very interesting answer:

To quote Ken Luckenhoff with Union Pacific Railroad at the Bisnow event last week:

"when the land you own has been in your family back to the Republic of Texas, and you herd your cattle with a helicopter ....you don't NEED the money that comes with selling acreage to man camps, trailers and drilling equipment."

If you would like to know more about real estate investing in the EagleFord shale, or other areas, give me a ring. We have opportunities for sale there, including a newly built 10% cap rate project leased to a startup company founded by former Halliburton execs.  See property here: http://bit.ly/Allied_Services_OM
